Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon Education Foundation Scholarships:
Scholarships: Every year the Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon Education Foundation (APAOEF) awards scholarships in amounts ranging from $2,000 to $3,500. Students who are awarded a scholarship receive a check for the award amount and may use the money to help offset student expenses however they see fit. The only requirement is that students must attend the Asphalt Pavement Association of Oregon’s Annual Meeting in December, which is where the scholarships will be presented.
Eligibility: Not all students realize that our nation’s economy relies heavily (figuratively and literally) on asphalt pavement. However, everything in our homes was at some point transported over the roads, and a majority of our national infrastructure is asphalt pavement road and highway – all of which are built and maintained by scientifically analyzing materials and applying engineering principles. Students who understand the importance of our road and highway infrastructure, and who are also interested in the design and/or construction of such infrastructure are perfect candidates for a scholarship. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in asphalt paving technology or a closely related field and be currently enrolled in an accredited engineering, construction engineering management, or construction trade program at a college, university, or professional trade school in Oregon. Students pursuing advanced degrees are eligible.
Additional Factors: Academic performance, extra curricular activities, work experience, and financial need may be considered. Although letters of recommendation are not required, they will be considered if submitted.
Deadline & Awards: The application deadline is the first Monday in November (11/4/2024). Scholarships will be awarded to students at APAO’s Annual Meeting in December. Information about APAO's Annual Meeting is under Events.
